English Poem – I Was Me

I Was Me

I found myself in nothingness,
Being me, completely me.
I needed not to put on a persona,
I was me, entirely me.

What I felt was so strange,
Wasn’t gloom or something else.
But a pure, serene comfort of,
Being me, for I was me.

It was far away from,
hustle and noise of life.
The chains were gone,
And I was free. I was me

In the world, I feel left out,
I don’t fit in, I don’t feel safe.
It doesn’t belong to me,
Where I’ve to change, where I’m not me.

In nothingness I found solace,
And never before had I felt so pure.
This nothingness was the gift of life,
Where I was me, finally me.
